โฆ Synopsis
Nineteen eighty-four is the year of the Tenth meeting of the International Association of Forensic Sciences. There are also some other, questionably less important, activities scheduled for this year. By the time of the Oxford meeting, many of us will have seen and enjoyed the performances of the athletes participating in the Los Angeles Olympic Games, running, jumping, and throwing faster and further than ever before. We lesser mortals will have been impressed by their physique and the results of their training. Yet we too can run, jump and throw, and have done so from an early age. No one taught us but--even if we had the ability, which I for one do not-it would require considerable training to take us anywhere near the performances of the Olympic athletes. To obtain this training we would need to find a coach; it would be of little or no use doing what we do in our professional lives and going to the library to read about it-the information is not there and what is written still needs coaching to be best implemented.
