β¦ Synopsis
The narrator of Warm Bodies is a zombie inhabiting a post-apocalyptic America that has been destroyed by decades of wars and natural disasters, culminating in a mysterious zombie plague. The narrator has no memory of who he is and no understanding of what it means to be alive or undead, he has only the first letter of his name ("R) and a vague notion that something is not right with the world. While eating a young man's brain and experiencing his memories, R encounters the man's girlfriend, Julie, and makes an unexpected choice to save her instead of killing her. He takes her back to the abandoned airport where the zombies congregate and hides her in a 747. While trying to decide what to do with her--and his slowly growing self-awareness--an unlikely relationship begins to develop, with unexpected consequences for the rest of the zombie horde. Paste Magazine said, "Marion explores the meaning of humanity through R?s journey towards personhood, a tale that gets grander in scale as his empathy builds and the book?s true villains?cynicism, apathy and status quo?are revealed."

### Review "I never thought I could care so passionately for a zombie. Isaac Marion has created the most unexpected romantic lead I've ever encountered, and rewritten the entire concept of what it means to be a zombie in the process. This story stayed with me long after I was done reading it. I eag
