✦ Synopsis
In 1935 the middle-aged wife of a farmer was found with several wounds in her head, originating from blows from an axe that was found nearby. The death was accepted as "a most unusual case of suicide" and was reported by Willy Munck in this journal (27 : 308-318, 1937).
The present author, who at that time was a young medical student and dealt with the victim in hospital, was of another opinion but tried in vain to have the case re-considered. On the basis of some original observations, it is suggested that "the unusual suicide" should rightly be considered as a murder case.
