✦ Synopsis


The structural and ferroelectric characteristics of SrBi 2 (Nb 1Γ€x W x ) 2 O 9 (x ΒΌ 0-0.12) ferroelectric ceramics were investigated. SrBi 2 (Nb 1Γ€x W x ) 2 O 9 ceramics consisted of a single-phase layered perovskite structure when x was less than 0.06. Uniform microstructure and grain size reduction were observed after the introduction of W. The maximum remanent polarization of 16 mC/cm 2 appeared at x ΒΌ 0.03, and the coercive field decreased with increasing concentration of W. The ferroelectric behavior of SrBi 2 (Nb 1Γ€x W x ) 2 O 9 ceramics is interpreted based on the Raman measurement.
