✦ Synopsis

The equilibrium vortex lattice for highly anisotropic superconductors in a magnetic field tilted by a small angle with respect to the easy plane of the crystal is found to display an array of vortex chains. This affects the behavior of the depinning current as a function of the angle: its sharp maximum, which presumably is due to intrinsic pinning, is broadened.
