✦ Synopsis


Brooker, isolated by vacuum distillation, were analysed by GC and by GC±MS. Many species contained a-pinene (0±43.5%), b-pinene (0±5.3%), 1,8-cineole (0.3±66.4%), p-cymene (0.2±22.6%), pinocarvone (0±8.4%), b-caryophyllene (0±11.6%), aromadendrene (0±19.4%), trans-pinocarveol (0.2±28.6%) and bicyclogermacrene (0±30.3%) as principal leaf oil components. All species contained torquatone (0.09±6.2%); lateriticone (1-isovaleryl-4-methoxy-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohex-3en-2,6-dione) (0.1±0.5%
