✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Zinctetramethylpyridylporphyrin (ZnTMPyP^4+^) in acidic aqueous solution sensitizes efficiently oxygen generation by visible light in the presence of acceptors such as Fe^3+^ ‐ and Ag^+^‐ions and colloidal RuO~2~/TiO~2~ redox catalyst. Hydrogen and oxygen are cogenerated under visible light illumination of ZnTMPyP^4+^ solutions when a bifunctional catalyst (Pt and RuO~2~ codeposited onto TiO~2~) is employed.
