✦ Synopsis

An attempt has been made to give an explanation of the apparent reduction in the viscosity of dusty gases when compared with uncontaminated clean gases. It is shown that the velocity gradient rather than viscosity of dusty gases changes when dusty gases are allowed to flow through two concentric rotating cylinders. The effects of various parameters influencing the apparent viscosity of dusty gases have been discussed.
