โฆ Synopsis
Visbreaker and straight-run bitumens with the same commercial characteristics were produced in a refinery from four topping residues, in order to study the influence of the visbreaking process on the behaviour of bitumens. Besides the conventional standard tests, road tests and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were employed. Differences in temperature susceptibility, oxidation resistance, melting characteristics and glass transition temperature TG were measured. Such differences are not revealed by the routine tests.
