Virtual reality (VR) offers many new possibilities in engineering education.
This article gives an introduction to and definition of VR, presents some reasons to use VR, provides suggestions on when to use VR, along with a model for determining this, discusses some current and possible applications, gives examples of equipment and software for a low-budget ( รต$10,000) VR lab, and describes one such lab.
