โฆ Synopsis
A calculation
procedure is proposed which allows low-angle laser light-scattering measurements to be used as a practicable method for calibration-free molecular weight determinations of soluble coal derivatives.
Application of this method to coal solutions allows thermodynamic parameters for the solvent-coal interaction to be derived

A differential cryoscope of the equilibrium type is described. It requires only 1 ml of sample for a molecular-weight determination of a solute in a solvent that freezes below room temperature. The instrument is sensitive to +0.0002ยฐC, which corresponds to +O.OOOl mol of solute per 1000 g of water.
