In June of 1965, a tubular reverse osmosis desalination plant was installed at Coalinga, California . The plant was intended to obtain data characteristic of operation in the field and simultaneously to provide 5000 GPD (gallons per day) (19 m 3 /d) of fresh water to the residents of Coalinga . Thus

โฆ Synopsis
The Mt. Zion/Rustic water supply system in Southeastern Virginia recently installed the first municipal membrane filtration treatment process in Virginia. The 15,000 gpd reverse osmosis system is arranged in a 2:l array using 15 4-inch Hydranautic's CPA2 membranes. Initial performance of the treatment system has exceeded expectations and is providing a dependable, quality potable water supply for the residents of the Villages of Mt. Zion and Rustic in the County of Charles City.
