Note from the Editor

Electronic publishing is in its infancy and will no doubt evolve as rapidly as the Internet on which it is built. The flexibility that electronic publishing is clear, and offers a variety if delivery methods and charging models for electronic journals . At ASL we have adopted a particular way of delivering ASL to its subscribers that I hope you feel works well. Other areas of science have adopted different approaches, one of which is presented below, which I hope you find interesting and thought provoking. We would be interested to hear your thoughts on how you see the future of electronic publishing developing.
