By application of the dilution principle 8 macrocycles (12-, 14-, 16-, 24-, and 28-ring, 5a, b, 7, 9a, b, 10a, b, 11 b; yields 43 -2%) containing As and S as heteroatoms and 2 macrocycles (14-and 28-ring, 12a, b; yields 4370, 7%) containing As, S , and 0 as heteroatoms have been synthesized. The new smaller heterocycles 2-phenyl-1 ,Zthiarsolane (14a; max. 66%) and 5-phenyl-l,5thiarsocane ( l l a ; 30%) were formed as by-products.
