The vibrational spectra of three cyclic phosphazene molecules, [N 3 P 3 Cl 4 (O 2 C 12 H 8 )] (CP1), [N 3 P 3 Cl 2 (O 2 C 12 H 8 ) 2 ] (CP2) and [N 3 P 3 (O 2 C 12 H 8 ) 3 ] (CP3), are reported. The far-infrared, infrared and Raman spectra were recorded. The assignment of fundamental vibrational mod

. vapour and Raman spectra for the liquid were obtained and compared with those of other isocyanates. Vibrational assignments were made for all but one of the torsional fundamental modes. The observed features and the polarization measurements of the Raman lines in the spectra of the liquid are consistent with the existence of only one conformer possessing symmetry, in both the gas and liquid phases.
