✦ Synopsis
Infrared and resonance Raman spectra of Ni(PAN), and Zn(PAN), (where PAN denotes l-(2pyridylazo)-2-naphthol)
have been measured in the solid state. In addition, the nickel complex dissolved in CS, has also been investigated
by Raman spectroscopy at room temperature and 16 K. A normal coordinate analvsis was performed to characterize the observed vibrational transitions in terms of potential energy distribution. _
