✦ Synopsis

Resonant vibrational excitation by e-impact has been investigated in N02. Differential cross sections for elastic and vibrational excitation present complex structures which are not simple, due 10 overlapping bands. Nevertheless, they indicate a longlived resonance ('A, ) below 1 eV and an intermediate-lifetime state above 1.1 eV ( 'B1 and/or '8,).
