The energy decay of CH-stretchmg modes is measured for the molecules C6H6, C6HsC1. C&sCHB, C&&(CI-Ks j2, and CsNHs in the liquid phase. The observed lifetimes vary between f and 2 ps. In the theoretical analysis, three fast decay mechanisms are discussed_
