The emission from long-lived excited states in a nitrogen ion beam has been analyzed for wavelengths between 4800 and 6000 A. Many of the observed features arc produced by N; A %I" -X 'Zg' transitions for A \*li, Icvels having vibrationA quantum numbers u' = 5-17.
