โœฆ Synopsis


A study of the vibration-translation energy transfer in atom-diatom collinear collisions is made. Using an algebraic approach developed by Gazdy and Micha, the time evolution operator of the linearly driven parametric oscillator (LDPO) is obtained, and used to transform the cubic part of the interaction, which is then treated with first-order perturbation theory. Results are presented for the systems H,-He, O,-He and C2-H, for a couple of transitions and are compared with those obtained by more exact methods.
