✦ Synopsis


The frequencies and modes of vibration of a five bay curved beam on hinged supports are determined by using the finite element displacement method of analysis. The variation of these frequencies and modes with changes of curvature is also investigated. These characteristics are related to the characteristics of a single bay, which are confirmed experimentally.
