This paper is concerned with a theoretical study of a vibrated particle bed. The study covers greater ranges of vibratory intensity and bed height than previously treated in the compressible gas model of a vibrated particle bed. The extension of the parameter ranges has been made possible through th

A new mathematical formulation was made to deal with the compressible gas model that represents the vibrated particle bed. A novel boundary condition, which incorporates the equation of motion of the bed and the equation ofcontinuity in the air gap between the bed and the vessel base, was introduced
