A method to quantitatively measure the bacterial endotoxin content (lipopolysaccharide, LPS) in phospholipid vesicles or liposomes is necessary because the conventional Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) test does not provide an accurate measurement due to the hydrophobic interaction of LPS and vesicles
