✦ Synopsis

We have measured the spin structure functions g~ and g~ over the kinematic range 0.02 < x _< 0.8 and 0.6 _< Q2 _< 20 (GeV/c) 2 by scattering 29.1 and 32.3 GeV longitudinally polarized electrons from transversely polarized NH3 and 6LiD targets. The statistical errors are approximately three times smaller than previous measurements. Very preliminary results for xg2 are compared with the twist-2 Wandzura-Wilczek calculation for two of the three electron scattering angles used in this experiment.
