Abstract
Sea and air temperatures were taken at a number of points within 2 m of the surface. In general, both sea and air temperature profiles were almost isothermal at more than 1 m from the surface. Air temperatures gave some indication of a change from neutral to stable conditions above about 55 cm. There was little confirmation of an earlier suggested similarity between profiles of wind, temperature and humidity under near‐neutral conditions.
