✦ Synopsis
A rapid and easy method for the isolation of plasmid DNA, both in analytical and preparative scale, is described. Using dye-buoyant density-gradient centrifugation in a vertical rotor, separation of covalentlv closed. sunercoiled plasmid DNA from relaxed circular and linear DNA is completed within 1 to '2 h: ' Abbre~ations used: EtBr, ethidium bromide; TES buffer, 50 mM Tris, 5 mM EDTA, 50 mM sodium chloride.
