✦ Synopsis

Vertebral artery injury is a relatively rare cause of neurelogic deficits occurring after blunt trauma. We present the case of a man involved in a motor vehicle accident with resulting vertebral artery injury whose symptoms did not appear until several hours after his initial evaluation in the emergency department. The mechanisms, pathogenesis, presentation, and treatment of these injuries are discussed.
