✦ Synopsis

students of the industry, the Tremblays acknowledge a scholar who has spent years collecting and analyzing beer industry data: Robert S. Weinberg. In dedicating The Wasteland to Ezra Pound, T .S. Eliot referred to Pound as il migliore fabbro. The Tremblays, in identifying Weinberg as 'the leading scholar of the in beer industry,' graciously thank him for his input to their book and, in the process, acknowledge Weinberg's unique position as a student of the industry.

Weinberg writes, in the Foreword to the Tremblays' book, that this '. . .is the kind of book that I always wanted to write.' He adds that the Tremblays 'provide the theorist with more than adequate basic knowledge of the fundamental operating dynamics of the brewing industry. At the same time, they provide brewing industry executives with an excellent demonstration of how the tools of economic analysis can improve even [their] understanding of the environment in which they operate.' This is high praise indeed from il migliore fabbro and I second the encomia.
