Noble gas dimers existing in a nozzle beam are scattered by a noble gas atomic beam. Avoiding the infIuence of higher clusters we have measured the velocity dependence of the total scattering cross section for Arz-(Ne, Ar, Kr) and Kr2 -(Ne, Ar). To determine the ratio of the cross sections for the d
A tandem quadrupole mass spectrometer is used to study the charge transfer reactions NH: + NO and NO+ + NH, over a collision energy range 1.5-l 3 eV. The vibrational state of the reagent ions is selected by resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization. For the 0.9 eV exothermic process NHf +NO+NH,+NO+
Direct measurements of scattering cross sections for NHs in well-defined quantum states are made using a molcrular beam maser spectrometer. Cross sections are compared for a pure inversion state with those for a coherent superposition state for scattering gases He, Ar, Nz, N20, NHa, CFgH and CHaCN.T
The quenching cross sections for collision of Cd( 53P, ) with H, or D2 arc measured in the range 430 < T< 900 K. They show a threshold behaviour, increasing by one order of magnitude in the studied temperature range, and a marked isotopic effect, being about two times greater for Hz than for DZ.
