โœฆ Synopsis

We study the vehicular traffic through a sequence of traffic lights on a highway, where signals turn on and off periodically with the green-wave strategy. We present the dynamical model of vehicular traffic controlled by green-wave signals, where a vehicle is inhibited to pass other vehicles. The dynamical behavior of vehicular traffic is clarified by analyzing tour time and traffic pattern. The dependence of tour time on offset time is derived for various values of cycle time. It is found that the tour time at the green-wave strategy is related to that at the synchronized strategy. Also, the dependence of maximal current on both offset time and cycle time is shown.

We study the dynamical behavior of vehicles moving with fluctuating speed through a sequence of traffic lights which are controlled by the synchronized strategy. The dynamics of fluctuating vehicular traffic controlled by traffic lights is described in terms of the stochastic nonlinear map. We study
