✦ Synopsis

This book is a unique comprehensive collection of case presentations that cover most areas of vascular surgery. In each chapter, a real-life case scenario is presented, followed by a series of questions, through which the reader is drawn into the investigation and management of the patient. The knowledge of the reader is assessed in all aspects of patient management from the salient history, examination, investigation, appropriate treatment and follow-up. The commentary not only provides the answers, but also discusses them in light of the current literature and what is perceived to be best medical practice. The contributors are experts, well known for their specialist interests within vascular surgery. The volume is well illustrated with algorithms, tables and radiological images, and is appropriately referenced. It is an applied book that aims to address the topical problems and issues experienced in vascular practice and, as such, complements many of the rather dry textbooks that exist. It is a welcome and effective aid to self learning and assessment for the senior trainee as well as being of value to the practising vascular specialist.
