✦ Synopsis

The solution-mediated syntheses and single-crystal structures of (CN 3 H 6 ) 2 ' Zn 3 (HPO 3 ) 4 ' H 2 O (I) and H 3 N(CH 2 ) 3 NH 3 ' Zn 3 (HPO 3 ) 4 ' H 2 O (II) are reported. These phases contain networks of vertex-sharing ZnO 4 tetrahedra and HPO 3 pseudopyramids accompanied by organic cations and water molecules. Despite their similar formulae, these phases adopt di4erent crystal structures, in terms of three-dimensional and two-dimensional ZnO 4 "HPO 3 networks, for I and II, respectively. Their similarities and di4erences to other zinc phosphites and phosphates are brie6y discussed. Crystal data: (CN 3 H 6 ) 2 ' Zn 3 (HPO 3 ) 4 ' H 2 O,
