โฆ Synopsis
I n my study of spermatogenesis of the albino rat (Allen, 'IS), only an X was reported. Subesquent examination of the material then used, together with some more recently prepared, has brought me to the conclusion that there is also a Y chromosome, as reported by certain other observers to be mentioned below. In connection with this study, variations in size and behavior were noted in the two accessories, and thcse are recorded in this paper. Hundreds of first spcrmatocyte cells in metaphase and anapliase were studied.

## Abstract The chromosome behavior from the late pronucleus to the first cleavage was examined in airโdry preparations of mouse and hamster eggs. At recovery 88% of 327 eggs from 28 mice and 93% of 185 eggs from 13 hamsters were showing various stages during fertilization. The presence of fuchsin
## ONE FlGIURE Since the pioneer work of Long and Evans ('22) much emphasis has been placed upon the size of corpora lutea in rats under various conditions. The most striking observation has been that during the latter half of pregnancy the corpora lutea are larger than at any other time. Long and
Applications of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) for translocation studies and biological dosimetry would benefit substantially from reliable and efficient automatic detection of metaphase chromosomes labeled with fluorescent dyes. We replicated and evaluated a fluorescence metaphase finder
