A variable-screening method is proposed for the calcuIation of e!ectronic energies of diatomic molecules. This new method is appiied to the ground state of HeH\* in order to investigate its utility.

Angular momentum projected mean field theory is used to derive analytic expressions for various matrix elements in the vibron model for diatomic molecules. The results are applied in a search for a realistic description of rotation-vibration spectra in the vibron model.
## Abstract A model consisting of a harmonic oscillator well and a repulsive inverse square potential, coupled by a delta function, is solved. We find the __S__βfunction for this case and study its poles as a function of the coupling strength. These poles show how the harmonic levels shift and broa
