โฆ Synopsis
Welcome to our celebration. What a joy to have an awards luncheon to honor people and programs that have demonstrated exemplary work. Many of you contribute to ACES [Association for Counselor Education and Supervision) and to the counseling profession. and this occasion is also our chance to acknowledge you. Before continuing. I would like for those of you who have been ACES presidents to stand.
Thank you for all you have done for us. Also. we appreciate those of you who have been ACES officers, regional presidents. regional officers, journal or newsletter editors, committee or interest network chairs. members of committees or interest networks. conference chairs, conference committees, presenters, authors. supporters or promoters of counseling. Thank you for all your contributions.
You have led us here by your diligence and dedication. Truly it has taken our village to have raised our child. the counseling profession. You may have served as leaders, as followers, as cheerleaders, or you may have helped us advance by other ways. Whatever the contribution, each one of us has played a part.
My being here is an example of what so many of you have done for me. (Here's where the nominee pulls out that list and starts running down names.) I will try to simplify by saying I have a gratitude that defies description for all of you who have listened. and encouraged. and debated, and supported me. You have enriched my world immeasurably. To those of you who live with me at Wake Forest [University). you are the finest colleagues anyone could have. And to my husband and son, you are the dearest humans in the world and the greatest personal blessings imaginable.
We started with applause, and I would like to continue celebrating who we are.
