✦ Synopsis
Dynamic sealing
designed specifically for use on agitators and mixers. This product combines the proven simplicity, reliability and superior performance of the PSS range, with the ability to handle increased shaft run-out of up to 0.62 in 0.55 ram) FIM.
The PSS-A seal bridges the gap between low and high run-out applications in the Durametallic range. It uses exactly the same parts as the standard PSS seal, except for a redesigned rotor which can be supplied in either Peramic (aluminium oxide) or silicon carbide.
The performance parameters for the PSS-A seal cover temperatures up to 121°C (250°F), at pressures up to 7 bar (100 psi), at speeds up to 1800 rpm for shaft diameters up to 4 in. The standard PSS seals can accommodate speeds up to 350 rpm for shaft sizes up to 3.5 in diameter, and 1800 rpm above the size.
To make these seals even more attractive, Durametallic has introduced economically priced repair options for the full PSS range of products. Kits can be supplied to users who have the technical capability to undertake their own repairs. Alternatively, repairs can be carried out by Durametallic engineers either on site or on a return to manufacturer basis.
