✦ Synopsis
ARTIFICIAL DAYLIGHT. 499 whereas if the light had all been subjected to daylight-producing absorption it should have required 2o,ooo watts. If, however, daylight could be produced directly in an illuminant without any waste heat radiation, it wottld not only 1)e a ranch more efficient process than that indicated, but even more efficient than any present known artificial light source. Instead of 2o,ooo watts, 5 ° watts would suffice.
The ultimate goal of the student of artificial daylight, therefore, is the production of daylight whenever and wherever it is wanted, distributed in any desired manner, at no greater c~,st than our present yellow artificial light.
