โฆ Synopsis
A valence criterion previously developed by us is reinvestigated. The deviation from a standard valence is partitioned in HP and CI contributions to generate a more precise definition of diradicals and zwitterions. The method is compared with other criteria. It is used to classify a large number of small neutral molecules in five groups: covalent molecules, zwitterions, diradicals, 1 ,n-dipolar compounds and diradicals with ionic character.

A simple lattice-fluid model is presented for solute adsorption from a bulk liquid onto a solid surface in the presence of an additional thin (liquid) surface coating. In this model, solutes first absorb in this intermediate surface film before they adsorb at the solid surface. This coupling of adso
Consecutive and nested partitions have been extensively studied in the set-partition problem as tools with which to search efficiently for an optimal partition. We extend the study of consecutive and nested partitions on a set of integers to the vertex-set of a graph. A subset of vertices is conside
