Photophysical properties of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, Naproxen (6-methoxy alpha-methyl-2-naphthalene acetic acid sodium salt), were investigated in solvents of different polarity, hydrogen donor ability and also in cyclodextrins. The results indicate that in all cases the emitting stat

✦ Synopsis
benzenesulfonamide], C 16 H 14 N 2 O 3 S, a diaryl-substituted isoxazole, is a non-steroidal anti-in¯ammatory drug (NSAID) that is used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and dysmenorrhea pain. The planar isoxazole ring is oriented at angles of 22.2 (1) and 54.3 (1) with respect to the phenyl and benzenesulfonamide groups, respectively. NÐHÁ Á ÁO and CÐHÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds and NÐHÁ Á Á%, CÐHÁ Á Á% and %±% interactions stabilize the crystal packing.
