✦ Synopsis
CB&I has been awarded a US$90 million lump-sum turnkey contract for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal expansion project near Savannah, Georgia, USA. CB&I will perform the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning for the project, which will increase the facility's storage volume by approximately 80% to 7.3 billion cubic feet. The terminal, one of four LNG import facilities in the USA, is owned and operated by Southern LNG Inc. CB&I's work scope includes a new 160 000 cubic metre LNG storage tank, a 540 MMSCFD send-out system, two LNG ship unloading stations, and related civil, mechanical, electrical and insulation works. The terminal expansion is expected to be completed by the end of 2005.
