Abstract
A novel wideband design of a microstrip line‐to‐integrated waveguide (IWG) transition is proposed and demonstrated at the V‐band. The transition is implemented by using a quarter wavelength grounded coplanar waveguide (GCPW) transformer and two short‐circuited slots. The measurements of the back‐to‐back connected transitions show an insertion loss of 0.7 dB and a return loss better than 15 dB with a bandwidth of 50% at 60 GHz. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
