Abstract
A novel comb compact microstrip resonant cell (CCMRC) is first developed. The compact configuration presents ultra wide stopband and excellent slowβwave characteristics. A UWB lowpass filter, consisting of three CCMRCs connected in series, is designed and fabricated. The proposed filter has the merits of low insertion loss in the passband, sharp, deep, and wide rejection in the stopband and compact size. Β© 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract In this paper, we propose a novel defected ground structure (DGS) for lowpass filter applications. The basic resonant element of the proposed DGS unit shows the elliptic characteristics, and two transmission zeros can be realized to extend the stopband. Incorporating compact microstrip
## Abstract In this study, firstly, a novel Uβshaped defected ground structure(UDGS) cell is proposed to hold both wide band gap and excellent slowβwave characteristic. The design, simulation, and fabrication of compact ultra wideband(UWB) low pass filters (LPFs) using two UDGSs and a compensated m
## Abstract A new and compact ultraβwideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) using hybrid microstrip/coplanar waveguide (CPW) structure is proposed. The presented filter has been designed, fabricated, and measured for UWB system. Measured results demonstrated the UWB properties from 3.1 to 8.9 GHz (β3
## Abstract A novel construction of microwave switchable lowpass filter based on electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) and cadmium sulfide (CdS) thin film is proposed. Linearly tapered slotβarray EBG structure is well known for its exceptional stopband ability and compact physical size. When the illuminati
