## Abstract An aqueous dispersion of gold nanoparticles was added to an acrylic resin and UV‐cured. The photopolymerization process was followed by means of real‐time FT‐IR spectroscopy. Nanostructured coatings containing a homogeneous dispersion of gold nanoparticles with an average size range of
