โœฆ Synopsis

Pulsed UV-IR double-resonance spectroscopy was implemented to demonstrate IR absorption spectroscopy in electronically excited polyatomic molecules by fluorescence dip detection, using jet-cooled propynal (HCCCHO) excited to the first excited singlet state S1 as an example. This method opens the possibility to study the spectroscopy and dynamics of rovibronic states which are not accessible in one-photon transitions or are non-fluorescing.

The feasibility of determining nuclear quadrupole hyperfine splittings in the ground electronic state of a polyatomic molecule using a double resonance quantum beat method has been demonstrated. Pyrimidine molecules were coherently excited into single rotational states of the So 201 ( 13a ~) vibrati
