✦ Synopsis
If a fluid, physically or chemically interacting with a solid wall, continuously flows through an open system with known residence time distribution (RTD), it is possible to assess the system performance, if the interactions are linear, by using Zwietering's micromixing models. This methodology could be used to predict the behaviour of any common open system from the study of a model open system with its RTD close to that of the original system.
