β¦ Synopsis
Through books, children can be helped to cope with health and life problems. Reading as therapy can be done on several levels, either by trained counsellors or by caring adults. This paper covers the research, methodology, possible counterβindications and effectiveness of reading therapy with children. Further training should be a priority in librarianship as well as in other disciplines, and the establishing of a coβordinating body should be considered.
