โœฆ Synopsis

Pertinent climatological data and precipitation probability forecasts were adapted to quantitative use in irrigation scheduling of corn in central Missouri, U.S.A. A simulation model was programmed in the computer to execute the water budgeting of corn for a silt loam soil. The magnitude and frequency of the need for supplemental irrigation was determined on the basis of the growing seasons of 1938-1967. The adapted forms of the weather information were used in different treatments involving management decisions. The resulted savings of irrigation water were computed and analyzed for various periods of the growing season.
