The developmental origins of the health and disease hypothesis suggests that fetal growth restriction (FGR) is a risk factor for several chronic diseases of adulthood. However, most supporting studies use birth weight as a proxy measure of FGR. To examine the relationship between birth weight and FG

โฆ Synopsis
Behcet's syndrome to the list is not unexpected. Indeed, in the case reported by Zizic and Stevens (4), an episode of "the pseudothrombophlebitis syndrome of a Baker's cyst" prompted hospitalization on one occasion. Venography was not obtained in that case (personal communication).
Recently, however, reports have appeared (5) emphasizing the clinical concurrence of true thrombophlebitis and Baker's cysts. Other authors have demonstrated venogram abnormalities concurrent with positive arthrograms in patients with documented pop-Meal cysts (6). These reports emphasize the need in at least some of these clinical situations to rule out a concurrent thrombophlebitis. Alternatively, since thrombophlebitis is such a common component of Behcet's syndrome, one must also consider the possibility of pseudothrombophlebitis in this disorder secondary to arthropathy. Indeed the high frequency of thrombophlebitis noted (2) may in part be explained by the inclusion of cases of pseudothrombophlebitis. The present case with a positive arthrogram and a negative venogram substantiates the presence of the pseudothrombophlebitic syndrome in Behcet's disease.
