The determination of nitrogen is a routinous analyses used in the biochemistry of proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and certain carbohydrates. Calorimetric procedures involving Nessler's reagent (l-3) are most commonly applied. The major disadvantage of the method is the fact that the colored complex
