Conclusions
The Taylor-&is analysis for lam&r dispersion in straight tube is applicable for coils provided ND, < 0.15. Perturbation analysis of Erdogan and Chatwin is quite accurate in predicting the minimum Dean number at which the effect of curvature on K, is significant but is inadequate in predicting the extent of reduction. Pulsations caused by single acting piston type metering pumps can influence laminar dispersion in both directions.
